Dear Bluegrass Friends: I have uploaded the videos from the Dec. 5th Jam onto my website for now until I can configure a section for these on the MGBA site. The videos are pretty good, I think. However, if you view them and decide to save them on your computer, please remember not to share out in the public or on the web in public until you have permission from everyone shown there.
They are located at:
http://www.georgiaroyal.net/private/videos_s/flashmovsdec2011/
To view these you will need to email me for a login name and password.
I will work to get a private and secure section of the MGBA web site functional soon.
Keep on Pickin....

MGBA Fall Picking Party and Picnic
OCT 15, 2011
2pm - 6pm
Bob Fountain's Farm (directions below)
Eating and Picking!
Howdy,
Here are the details for the picking party we have planned for OCT 15th:
The location will be Bob Fountain's beautiful farm off of Sgoda Rd. MGBA will provide fried chicken and drinks and we'd like the members to bring either a vegetable dish or a dessert dish. We'll meet at 2pm and start off with eating and then have a jam session under the pavilion till about 5 or 6pm or whenever we decide we've had enough! Since we have to buy the chicken, we'd like to get a rough head count of how many folks might attend. It's free and any one that is a member can show up even if you didn't RSVP - we'll have plenty of chicken to go around. If you want to bring friends that are non members, try to let us know in advance and plan on donating a little to the food donation jar to cover them. Please drop us an email if you know you will be attending.
So, the bottom line is we will have Food, Friends and Fun and Picking!
We need a few volunteers to help set up the food and chairs so holler if you can come out a little early to help out.
Here are directions to Bob Fountain’s farm: TAKE I 16 TO EXIT 12 SGODA RD., GO NORTH OR LEFT IF YOU ARE COMING FROM MACON., GO 1.3 MILES, TURN LEFT ON MARION RD , THE FARM IS .3 MILES ON RIGHT.

October 1, 2011 at the Juliette Opry. Show starts at 8pm, with an open jam beginning at 6pm. There is no admission charge for this show. Hope to see you there.
Buttermilk Revival began many years ago as a three piece bluegrass band called "Tappinfoot", consisting of Jody Daniels (banjo, guitar), Matt McClain (guitar), and Todd Herron (mandolin, dobro), all who have had individual extensive experience playing, singing, writing and recording music. In early 2009, they added harmonica player, Joe Mauldin, Adam Poulin on fiddle, and Larry Rapp on bass, turning the trio into a full multi-instrument bluegrass band. Now they find themselves quite popular throughout the music rich town of Athens and were recently chosen as the entertainment for the 2011 Athens Classic City Beer Fest. Buttermilk Revival blends traditional & non-traditional instrumentation with three part vocal harmonies and a dash of humor for a very entertaining recipe of straight up bluegrass
